“Taking
pictures means holding your breath with all your
faculties concentrated on capturing a fleeting reality.” Henri
Cartier-Bresson
These images document many of the people I have
been privileged to know and photograph for more
than two decades working as a photojournalist.
Whether they are famous adults or children playing
dress up, my goal has always been to “seize
the moment of truth” as Bresson has said,
and with compassion and patience allow for the
humanity of my subjects to reveal, in perhaps unguarded
moments, what is both unique and universal in their
portraits. |
